‘Io

“The CD is titled ‘Io, short for ‘Iolani, the name of the Hawaiian hawk. I use the hawk as a metaphor for my Grandmother who passed away recently. My Grandfather passed away when my Father was but 10 years old. Thus, my Grandmother had to raise 9 children by herself. She must’ve done a great job, for in 1964 she was honored as “Mother of the Year”. Like the hawk, I have an imagery of my Grandmother flying up high, looking down and protecting those she love. This CD is dedicated to my mentor, my teacher, my Grandma.”
