No Na Kamali’i

No Na Kamali`i is a compilation of Hawaiian verses used to teach children the alphabet and arithmetic, as well as games (hike-and-seek, string figures) and little ditties, some of which are of English origin. These verses are culled from the numerous collection of audio recordings voiced by noted Hawaiian cultural expert Mary Kawena Pukui and call upon the recollections of her youth in Ka`u.
