Every recording I have done so far has been a stepping stone, a path leading me to where I am today. Each one has been a special moment in time, culminating into this, my newest CD entitled “PILIALOHA”!
A close friendship, a beloved companion, and to be in a bond of love are all qualities associated with “PILIALOHA” the word, and “PILIALOHA” the album! Many of the compositions can certainly be considered love songs conveying affection, devotion and fondness.
New mele written by kumu hula ‘Iliahi Paredes includes Ku’u Lei Hiwahiwa, Aia Ka La’i i Ka’uiki and my favorite, Sila Pa’a Ke Aloha all lovingly written to honor a special person. Ka Pua Maka Onaona a song written for ‘Iliani’s daughter speaks of the little things he loves most about her. And E Ho’i Ke Aloha i Maunawili honors ‘Iliahi’s kupuna.
