On November 5th, Eddie Kamae was honored with The David Malo Award, presented by the Rotary Club of West Honolulu! November 5th was also officially named “Eddie Kamae Day”, and master craftsman Sonny Dahlin made a special ukulele for Eddie in honor of him receiving the award.
Given each year, The David Malo Award recognizes an individual of Hawaiian ancestry whose accomplishments and life have portrayed the idea of high achievement in such fields as art, music, dance, education, science, community service, government, religion, business, or sport.
